W O R D – R E V I E W S
| Bio | Reviews |

SpaceScape densely mixes assorted vocal styles with sci-fi e-grooves, and more... A flatlined robot chorus sings against the darktronic rhythms of Order Within Chaos. Dream-pop vibes flow through Peace & Love (ATT), "sweetened" even further by cheerily crooned popvocals. Diva-choruses back Resurrection Drone's disco drive. Mechanistic mists and distant drums flow through trancey Exploration (8:33) with fidgety electron ripples; occasionally, cyborg, alien and human voices recite various "-tion" words. Cruise to dark neon stars on Project Blue Book's powered-up percussion and celestial theremin waves, though you'll be wondering "what the hell is that?" (thanks to spoken words to that effect). Brief drone-falling interlude Docking (0:27) drops into the most-seductive zone of Platz Musique Garden, where a she-bot-guide voice seeps into a thrummingly bass-heavy space-noir mix. Fun! The subtler (though still quite active) wisps of Transport De L'Space are appreciably more mesmerizing, with softer beats and no words. Star-lounge closer Nova makes for an even-more- relaxing ending. Interesting (if sometimes a bit kooky) work from Timothy C. Harrison, Bill Johnston, Jr., Rick J. Ritts and friends, who blend stiff doses of "space" sounds/music with beats/ voices, sometimes rather strongly for my own tastes (particularly in the earlier tracks)...

Galactic Grooves. WOW! this CD gets an immediate four stars. It’s unbeilievable that Detroit just continues to supply this rivethead’s thirst for “Subsonic” electronic and industrial music. “God Help Us”! This CD is a must-have. This is what happens when Kraft-werk does a show in Detroit, but while waiting for a cab gets abducted by the Thrill Kill Kult. There is an obsession for droning chords –“We Are Robotized,” with computer noises, bouncy arpeggios, and the occasional campiness which fits so well as an accent in between many serious and crafty statements. In parts I feel dragged back to 1985 to see the Suicide Rockers battle the Latin Rascals at the Azteca Hall. I get old school electro vibes of Afro-house coupled with too many Duke Nukem-type video games and the occasional fits of delirium you get when you listen to the Psycopomps or Test Department. I can feel my head spin while booty wants to feel the “Galactic Grooves” and do the bodyrock, the electric boogaloo, worm and of course the robot in between fits of thrashing around like an idiot. The interactiveness of themes in the samples take you into a dreamscape. This is a timeless “Musik Elektronik” must-have. You just have to listen! You won’t believe it!
